Sylvia Parker currently serves at the University of Wyoming as coordinator for the Science and Mathematics Teaching Center, a collaboration between the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education. She is also a Senior Lecturer, teaches classes in place-based education and oversees a master’s degree program in natural science education. Before moving to Wyoming, she worked for the Annenberg Foundation on a rural education project, the Mid-continent Regional Education Laboratory, Colorado State University and other organizations primarily focusing on professional development for teachers. A graduate of Colorado State University (B.A. Social Sciences/Secondary Education) and Columbia University (M.A., Technology in Education), she has a strong interest in education for sustainability and social justice.
Role in BANR: Sylvia is a member of the Education Team and focuses on professional development and supporting education activities Wyoming.
